All plates in color, some full-page, and on glossy, heavy stock. 24 plates, as called for. NOTE: pp. 26 to 42 in the Plates section, and the attendant plate pages, are present but detached from the text block, likely owing to inadequate glue application by the binder. A bit of off-setting from the pastedowns to the opposite FEPs. Else a very clean copy. With the original pictorial dust jacket, unclipped. The DJ is sunned and there is a chip at the spine head and another at the bottom edge of the front wrapper. Lovely new Brodart DJ protector. Down-graded to Good Only on account of the loose pages, and priced accordingly. In a Very Good Minus DJ. Scarce in any condition. From the series, Porcelain of the National Palace Museum. The series began in 1961 and contemplated 20 volumes. The first volume of the series was the present volume on Ju Ware of the Sung Dynasty. Ju ware are among the greatest greenish-blue wares of all times. Because few pieces of this ware have survived, the twenty-three specimens that have been preserved in the National Palace Museum constitute a unique collection. Most of the plates in this volume reflect the original colors and the original sizes. The bases are also illustrated. This volume will be highly useful to the collector and the appraiser of fine Ju ware.
