A Very Good collection of catalogues in a Near Fine binding. Rare in any condition, especially as a complete set. Steinlen's longtime model, companion and mistress was Mlle Masseida. Of African birth, she was believed to be from Senegal or perhaps Sudan. Steinlen left much of his art to Masseida at the time of his death in 1923. He also left some of his artwork to his daughter Colette. Masseida followed Steinlen in death in 1929. Gradually works by Steinlen in her collection were sold off in succeeding years, beginning in 1930 and concluding in 1996.
