Published in issues of Hesperia, Journal of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Originally issued in paperback format and later bound as one hardback volume with wrappers preserved, except that the supplement of 1961 remains in its original pamphlet format. Published between 1953 and 1961. Presumed printed and bound in the USA. NOT ex library. Oxford blue buckram binding, with gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. 11.5 x 8.5 inches. Generally unbumped spine head and tail, with fairly sharp corners if with a touch of abrading. Binding somewhat rubbed but largely unsoiled and quite presentable. Text block firmly bound in. With 226-299, 179-328, 164-254, 256-310, and 24-29 numbered pages. Also, XXII, No. 4 with Plates 67-84; XXVII, No. 3 with Plates 47-50 & No. 4 with Plates 51-54; XXX, No. 1 with plates 5-6. All plates full-page B&W. No foxing or spotting in evidence and no remainder marks. A very few pages with a small marginal note in a neat ink hand. Else an impressively clean copy, and rather tight. Very gently read. No dust jacket. A Very Good copy. The complete set, including the supplement, is scarce in any condition. Also included is a packet of hand-written letters and notes. There is an 8-page letter dated August 11, 1953 and titled Textual Problems in the Stelai. It is addressed to Pritchett and signed "Dick." There is a 4-page letter dated August 18, 1953. It is addressed to "Lucy" and although unsigned is likely from the hand of Pritchett or Amyx. There are three pages of notes by or intended for Pritchett. Finally, there is a 1-page letter dated November 16, 1972 addressed to Pritchett and with the letterhead of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.
