Not to be confused with the work by the same author/editor entitled, A Companion to the Art of Fugue. The book here offered is the stated Edition in Open Score for the Use of Students. Undated but circa 1931. Presumed printed and bound in Great Britain. Bound in Oxford blue buckram, now somewhat faded overall, and with gilt-stamped lettering to the front board and to the spine. Gently bumped spine head and tail and corners. On the whole a very clean and presentable binding. 11.25 x 8.75 inches. Text block firmly bound in. With a two-page author's preface, a page of notes, a two-page Thematic Index, 127 numbered pages of open scores, and a page of addenda and corrigenda. Light age-spotting to the FEPs opposite the pastedowns. Else a very clean copy, inside and out, and still rather tight. Very gently read. A Very Good copy. Scarce in this early edition.
