Presumed first printing. Printed and presumed bound by Stephen Austin and Sons, Hertford, England. Green buckram binding, with faded and rubbed gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. Moderately bumped spine head and tail and upper corners. Light scuffing and soiling to the binding, especially at the edges. 10 x 6.5 inches. With xiv and 326 numbered pages, including XLV B&W full-page plates on semi-glossy stock, and 5 figures. Offsetting to the front and rear FEPs from the opposite pastedowns. An attractive and very small purple ink stamp to the base of the frot FEP, perhaps the mark of a bookseller. Else a clean copy, and rather tight. Gently read. No remainder marks. No dust jacket present. A Very Good Minus copy.
