Oxford blue buckram binding with blind-stamped lettering to the front board and with crisp gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. The binding with bumping and light wear at the spine tail, and at the lower corners. Overall a very clean binding with a little evidence of rippling [air pockets] to the boards. Text block is securely bound in. T.E.G. With highly deckled fore- and bottom edges to an attractive effect. With xxii and 231 numbered pages of text, and with 19 full-page, full-color plates and with 43 plates in collotype, as called for. The color plates on medium-weight, semi-glossy stock. Light foxing to the preliminaries. Light age-toning to all text pages. A bit of spotting to a few pages throughout the volume. Else a clean copy. Note that the color plates are exceptionally clean and almost entirely free of spotting. The plain paper dust jacket is unclipped. DJ with black-stamped lettering.
