Stated third edition, "with additions." Ex library but non-circulating reference book, and with very few of the usual ex library markings. Printed by Cox and Baylis, London. Bound [or rebound early on] in semi-stiff buckram hardboards, tan color, with simple gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. Moderately soiled boards but on the whole a presentable binding. The front FEP and the frontispiece illustration are present but detaching, and the formerly detached title page has been unprofessionally mended with archival mounting hinge tape. Else the text block firmly bound in. 7 x 4.5 inches. With xxxi and 327 numbered pages, and with 6 full-page engraved color plates, as called for. A small touch of foxing to some of the plates, quite minor but present. The text pages show mild age toning and scattered very light foxing, mostly in the margins. A bookplate of the Cleveland Garden Center is affixed to the front pastedown. A discreet "for reference" label is pasted on to the rear pastedown. Else a clean copy. Rated a Good Plus copy. The value may be largely in the lovely color plates.
