(8 x 5 inches). Early boards, much worn. Gently bumped spine head and tail, and with very bumped corners. The spine lettered in gilt. The text block is securely bound in. Charming engraved vignette to the title page. The pages of the book are only slightly wavy. Discreet ex libris label of previous owner, Roger Senhouse, affixed to front pastedown. Next to that a small notation in light pencil. Else a clean copy. A Very Good Minus copy. Scarce in any condition. Correspondence from Winckelmann concerning the discoveries at Herculanum and elsewhere includes: a long letter addressed to Comte de Brühl [pp. 3-150]; a long letter to Henri Fuessli [pp. 153-230]; and 16 letters to Bianconi [pp. 233-329].
