Presumed first printing of the first edition, 1925. Author's preface dated November 1924. Printed and bound in Great Britain. NOT ex-library. In the original heavy-duty binding. Medium gray buckram binding, with crisp gilt-stamped round floral design to the front board and with fairly crisp gilt-stamped lettering to the sunned spine. Light rubbing/scratching to the rear board, else a clean binding. Moderate bumping and light abrasion to the spine head and tail, and slight rubbing to the gently bumped corners. Front joint tender but holding nicely. Text block remains firmly bound in. 11.25 x 9 inches. xxix and 155 numbered pages of text, plus unnumbered pages of plates.
