This is a bilingual publication in Japanese and English. Preface dated Autumn 1933. Printed and bound by Jigyokudo in Japan. Rear pastedown with book production information written in Japanese. Soft gray paper hardboards in a subtly mottled pattern, with purple ribbon ties. Presumed stab-sewn under-binding, with some attractive green cloth at the spine head and tail. With crisp gilt-stamped title in Japanese to the front board. Unbumped spine head and tail, with sharp corners. Exceptionally attractive and unsoiled binding. Oblong, 5.75 x 9 inches. Text block firmly bound in. Handmade patterned paper pastedowns/FEPs. With unnumbered pages of text and illustrations. With 65 full-page color paintings of flower arrangements, each with corresponding commentary in Japanese and English. Just a hint of off-setting to the preliminaries, not into the plates. Else an immensely clean volume, with scant evidence of shelf life. Almost certainly unread. No remainder marks. In the original medium-duty, plain manila paper slipcase with black-stamped lettering. A Near Fine copy in a Very Good Minus slipcase.
