This is the first Irish edition of Universal Geography Formed into a New and Entire System. The true first edition was published in London in 1791. Complete in three volumes. Published and printed by Zachariah Jackson, Dublin, in 1793-94. 10.5 x 8.25 inches. Bound in period full calf, gilt-lettered red and black morocco spine labels. The leather somewhat cracked and dried out but no red rot to speak of. With [ii], vi, iii-v, ,  blank, 759; 792; [ii], 894, [ix]-xiii, [i]-xxxiii, , -10 pages. Approximately 37 copperplate engravings (three folding); 3 hand-colored frontispieces; folding table; folding map . Title page to third volume mis-numbered as Volume I. This edition without the maps found in other contemporary editions. Some wear and scuffing to leather; pencil scribbling on several plates, folding map with long tear; foxing and damp staining; else good. Handsome 20th century B&W bookplate of the American character actor Edward Everett Horton to the front pastedown. Else a very clean copy and still rather tight. A Very Good Minus copy.
