Ce n'est pas une édition bilingue. Texte en français uniquement, pas en anglais. This is not a bilingual edition. Text in French only, not in English. Printed and bound in France. The entire volume is dedicated to the works of Picasso, including painting, sculpture and ceramics, produced in Vallauris between 1949 and 1951. This volume issued by Draeger Frères on.25 October 1952. The full-pictorial wrappers and the frontispiece were specially made by Picasso for this edition of Verve. The fold-over style wrappers are separating along the folds, except that the spine has been re-inforced, rather unprofessionally, with gray bookbinder's tape. The wrappers are generally clean but slightly age-faded. 14 x 10.5 inches. The text block is bound with semi-stiff plain cardboard. Bump from the front to the upper corner, in the form of a one inch diagonal impression, affecting virtually all the pages. Bump not into the text at all and affecting very few of the illustrations directly. Text block delicately sewn together through the signatures and neither tight nor loose. Unnumbered pages; we can find no missing pages or plates. Several of the plates are on semi-glossy stock. The other pages watermarked Marais. A hint of age-toning to the Marais pages, as is typical with this book. Else a clean copy. A Very Good Minus copy in a Poor dust jacket. Priced accordingly. Worthy of conservation.
