Undated but believed circa 1925. Title page in bright orange lettering on a cream background, "Colored Birds-Eye View and Good Auto Route Map of New York and Vicinity showing suburban communities, harbors, water-ways, leading streets, avenues & highways." Dimensions as folded, about 7 x 4 inches. This is a one-sided [except for the title section], folded sheet, oblong, approximately 20.5 x 30.75 inches, printed in chromolithograph. Seas in blue, lands in green, large buildings in red, lettering in black. Several boats depicted at sea and an airplane in the sky at the top of the map. Unfolds accordian-style into 8 panels and then folds out top and bottom to 24 panels total. The full-color map with a red rule surround, Unobtrusive tape repairs to the underside of about four tears. A few 1/4 to 1/2 inch separations along the fold at interior corners, generally only visible when held up to bright light. Eight thumbtack holes around the outer margin of the map. Intermittent very light soiling but in general quite clean. Overall the condition of this piece of ephemera is Very Good Minus. Scarce in any condition.
