Ce n'est pas une édition bilingue. Texte en français uniquement, pas en anglais. Illustrations en couleurs. Textes de Anatole France. Demi-niger à coins, dos à nerfs richement orné, tête dorée. Exemplaire numéroté sur papier vélin teinté d'Arches. Trés bel exemplaire. This is not a bilingual edition. Text in French only, not in English. Issued December 15, 1923, by Frazier-Soye, Paris. No. 359 of 1200 copies on Arches vellum. Approximately 7 x 5 inches. Probably issued in paper wrappers, then promptly bound in blue niger (goatskin), with gilt borders and also with crisp gilt-stamped design and lettering to the hubbed spine, and with marbled paper hardboards. Unbumped spine head and tail and with sharp corners. An exceptionally clean and handsome binding, a pleasure to hold in one's hands. Text block firmly bound in. Patterned paper on the pastedowns and FEPs. With a duotone frontispiece plate, 57 numbered pages of text interspersed with charming color illustrations, including decorative initials, a title page portrait, 13 half-page plates and 5 full-page plates. No remainder marks. Just a hint of age toning along the upper part of the fore-edge, not into the pages. Else an impressively clean copy. Rated Near Fine. Artist: Léon Lebègue (French, born Orléans, 1863).
