An exceptionally clean copy, and very tight. Either unread or very gently read. Dust jacket with black lettering and photo-plates on a turquoise background. DJ is unclipped, clean but with light surface scratching and with rubbing along the edges, especially all along the top edge. A Near Fine copy in a Very Good DJ. At the time of her death in 1934, Doris Ulmann had 2000 glass-plate negatives exposed but not developed. Many of the reproductions in this book are from the last summer of her work and have not been publised before. Some of the photographs are of people in remote areas of the Appalachian Mountains.
