Dies ist nicht eine zweisprachige Ausgabe. Text in Deutsch, nicht in Englisch. Erste Ausgabe. This is not a bilingual edition. Text in German only, not in English. Foreward by Curt Glaser and description by Fritz Rumpf. From the gallery Paul Cassirer und Hugo Helbing. Printed in Berlin. 12.25 x 9 inches. A paperback with European over-wrappers. Unbumped spine head and tail, with gently bumped lower front corner. With xii and 120 numbered pages of text interspersed with 4 full-page, full-color plates, each with lovely tissue guard, and with xlviii pages depicting B&W reproductions. A small and unobtrusive bookplate to the title page and, just below, a hand-written note, "Printed in Germany, 1928." Else an exceptionally clean copy, inside and out. The plain over-wrappers are beige and are printed in black leettering. The over-wrappers are detaching but mostly present. One edge somewhat crudely repaired with packing tape. A Good Plus copy. From the private library of Herbert McLean Evans. Evans [1882-1971] was a highly regarded U.S. anatomist and embryologist. He was an ardent collector of rare books and of Japanese ukiyo-e prints.
