This is copy no. 579 of 1000 copies printed from type for The Japan Society in February 1913. Printed and bound at the De Vinne Press. 12.75 x 10 inches. Bound in quarter buff buckram with light gray-beige Japan paper hardboards, and with crissp gilt-stamped lettering tothe front board and faded gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. Very gently bumped spine head and tail, with moderately bumped and abraded corners. The text block firmly bound in. Fore- and bottom edges deckled to a handsome effect. Text appears to be printed on hand-made paper, somewhat age darkened. With tipped-in color frontispiece plate, and 52 numbered pages of text, interspersed with 23 plates, most of which are in color. Previous owner name in neat ink hand at bottom of title page. Four pages with a chip at the lower corner, not into the text or plates. Else the book is very clean. A Very Good Minus copy. Also bound in is A Catalogue of a Loan Collection of Japanese Colour-Prints Exhibited at the Fifth Avenue Building, April 19 to May 19, 1911, together with Reproductions of Representative Prints Included in the Exhibition.
