Complete in three volumes. Vol. 1 published 1925, Vol. II 1928, Vol. III 1929. Printed and bound in Germany. Contemporary medium blue buckram bindings, with crisp gilt-stamped lettering to the front boards and to the spines. Blacked-stamped design to the front boards. The medium-duty bindings are exceptionally clean. Gently bumped spine heads and tails, with fairly sharp corners. Lightest abrasion to the heads, tails and corners, trivial. The text blocks are firmly bound in, except that, as to Volume I, the front hinge is very tender. 12.5 x 9.75 inches. Vol. I with vii and 440 numbered pages of text, with numerous B&W figures, and with 29 full-page plates, several in color, on glossy paper; Vol II with vii and 276 numbered pages of text, with several B&W figures, and with 18 full-page plates, several in color, on matte paper; Vol III with 250 numbered pages of text, with several B&W figures, and with 18 full-page plates, several in color, on matte paper. Very discreet bookplate of Herbert McLean Evans to the front pastedown of each volume. An exceptionally clean set of three volumes. Very respectfully read. No dust jackets [as issued?].
