Dies ist nicht eine zweisprachige Ausgabe. Text nur in deutscher Sprache, nicht in Englisch. Mit 15 Kunstbeilagen und 321 Abbildungen im Text. This is not a bilingual edition. Text in German only, not in English. The first edition was published in 1910. Note: this is Volume I only of a two-volume set. Printed and bound in Germany. Ivory vellum spine with black leather (or leatherette) label, the spine with crisp gilt-stamped lettering, and with black buckram hardboards with crisp gilt-stamped archaic design. Two or three light streaks to the buckram but a generally clean binding. 10 x 7 inches. Generally unbumped spine head and tail, and with fairly sharp corners. Text block firmly bound in. T.E.G. With xiii and 360 numbered pages including text and full-page plates. Featuring 15 (XV) full-page color plates and with 321 illustrations in monochrome, all on medium-weight, semi-glossy stock. No remainder marks. Previous owner names to the upper corner of the front FEP, else a very clean copy, and rather tight. Gently read. There is no DJ present. A Very Good Minus copy of a fairly scarce scholarly work on Chinese and pre-Buddhist art history.
