Published October 1930; so stated. Printed at the Press of Kelly and Walsh, Limited, Shanghai, China. 12.5 x 10.25 inches. Quarter bound in orange buckram spine, with moderate creasing and with moderate soiling to the buckram in the middle of the front gutter area. Bound with vibrantly colored paper boards. Orange and yellow paper title label to the front board, with titling and design in black, the label in near fine condition with just a hint of soiling. Virtually no shelf rubbing along the bottom edge of the boards. Very gentle bumping to the spine head and tail, and with the corners gently bumped and abraded, quite minor. The binding is slightly shaken but the text block remains nicely bound in. Clean FEPs. 29 numbered pages of text. With six full-page, full-color plates, as called for. These plates are described on the title page as, "colour photo-gravure from Selected Chinese Paintings." The colors are vibrant and the plates are immensely clean. Also with a decorative capital and with several duo-tone illustrations throughout. A few pages with deckled fore-edge to a handsome effect. A very clean copy. No foxing, writing, staining, etc. observed. Very gently read. Rated a Very Good copy and with Near Fine color plates. This is a lovely, bright example. Rare and hard to find, especially in this condition.
