Issued November 11 [Armistice Day] 1938. One of an unstated limitation. According to the colophon page, "a few copies of this book... have been printed." 6 x 4.25 inches. Red buckram binding, with pristine paper label to the front board. Unbumped spine head and tail, with sharp corners. Scarcely a sign of shelf life. Decorative title page plus two unnumbered pages of text and eleven full-page B&W illustrations. Handset in the original English Caslon. Printed by George W. Van Vechten, Jr., on Tracy mould made paper. Gently deckled fore-edge to a handsome effect. The book is exceptionally clean, inside and out. Either unread or very gently read. The text block is soldily attached to the binding. No DJ [as issued?]. A Near Fine copy. A copy of this book resides in the Yale University archives for the Woolly Whale. The Press of the Woolly Whale was founded in 1928 by Melbert B. Cary, Jr.
