This is NOT ex library. Printed in Edinburgh and presumed bound there. 10.25 x 7 inches. Medium-green buckram binding, with crisp gilt-stamped lettering and design to the front board and to the spine. Moderately bumped spine head and tail, with sharp corners. Hinges tender but holding very nicely. Top, fore- and bottom edges of the text block deckled to a very handsome effect. With xxxv and 419 numbered pages. Color frontispiece and with XLIX full-page plates, most in duo-tone. Plates generally in excellent condition and many with pristine tissue guards. Also with 84 B&W figures representing porcelain marks. Foxing along the top, fore- and bottom page edges but generally not onto the pages themselves. Previous owner name in neat ink hand to the front and rear pastedowns. Else an exceptionally clean and rather tight copy. Gently read and not fully read; several pages remain unopened. No remainder marks. Overall a handsome book. No dust jacket is present. A Very Good Plus copy.
