Generally unbumped spine head and tail, and with fairly sharp corners. A bit of shelf rubbing at the very top and bottom edges. Textblock firmly bound in. T.E.G. With xlii and 168 numbered pages. Color frontispiece tipped in. With numerous full-page plates, mostly archival photos, in monochrome. All plates on glossy stock. Also with numerous B&W figures and drawings. Slipped in to the rear pocket is a pristine fold-out map showing the position of monuments and burials in Roman York. An immensely clean book, inside and out. Full-pictorial dust jacket is present.
